A large school of snappers and sweetlips usually surround this dive spot. In the cracks of the overhang and coral blocks you can find lobsters and morays waiting to greet you. In the blue water you can see tunas passing by, as well as jack fish. Napoleons and white tip reef sharks are seen from time to time here. On the reef top towards the end of your dive, keep your eyes out for turtles and if the season is right you can have luck with mantas and mobula rays!

The many overhangs found at Bula Lhohi Corner provide shelter to large groupers and sweetlips. There are also sometimes baby white tip reef sharks and lobsters hanging out in the cracks. Meanwhile, if you look to the blue you will find tunas and jackfish cruising by. For the macro-lovers we do sometimes find unusual nudibranchs, shrimps, flatworms and octopus on this dive site too.

Glassfish live in the overhangs together with large groupers taking shelter. Big schools of fusiliers and snappers you can see all around this reef. Grey reef sharks are sometimes seen cruising by too. Plenty of moray eels, scorpion fish and smaller reef-dwellers such as the Maldivian sponge snail can be found on Bula Lhohi Thila.

Frequently grey and white reef sharks pass by. However, even without the sharks, bat fish and fusiliers’ school the reef with tunas and trevallies passing by in the blue. The overhangs are nice hideaways for glassfish, groupers and lobsters. In between the luminous coral sponges there can be flat worms and nudibranchs found. Some time you may found frog fish here too. Truly something for everybody!

In the blue water big Napoleon wrasse, tunas and trevallies are a common sight. Stingrays like to doze on the sandy bottom and sometimes leopard sharks are also sleeping on the bottom. During season there is a good chance to see manta rays on the top of the reef, usually on the west side at depths of 12-15m.

The topography of this dive site makes it special and the fish life is no less varied. White tip reef sharks like to circle the reef and stingrays are often seen lying in the sand. The overhangs are great hideaways for big groupers. Up on the reef top you can find sweet lips, plenty of scorpion fish, stone fish and friendly turtles can be observed. With some luck, this dive site is where we find unusual flatworms between the sponges.

The main attraction of this thila are the sharks! On the current side, grey reef and white tip sharks, as well as other pelagic fish (tuna, jackfish) swim amongst schools of neon fusiliers. As well as scorpion fish, the even more toxic and ugly stone fish can be found on the top of the reef! Mantis shrimps scurry around in the rubble, as well as octopus and other invertebrates. There is something for every diver on this dive site.

Surely you must have heard about the richness of the underwater life at this famous Thila. The reef top is at 7 metres and all around drops down to about 40 metres. There are large overhangs with big black coral bushes where you can search for the Long Nose Hawk Fish and if you’re lucky you might even find a Ghost pipefish. If we have the right current you can find yourself in the middle of a big school of Fusiliers, Batfish, Big eye Soldier fish and of course some Gary and White tip Reef sharks. But also, you can go and search for the yellow Leaf fish, and find most times two to three Octopi playing around on the top reef. Always have one eye in the blue and you might see the big giant Barracuda, or the little “one fin” Eagle ray.

The fish life on this Thila is just amazing. A family of Napoleon will welcome you as soon as you’re descending through the big School of Fusiliers and blue striped snappers which are circled by giant Travellys and tunas. Pause a while and observe how the Travellys and the Tunas are gathering the fusiliers together until the right moment has come where they shoot in to this big ball of fish and try to catch one. An amazing spectacle to watch. In greater depths or if the current is stronger also shallow you can see Gray- White-and sometimes even the Oceanic White tip Sharks. On the top reef or hidden in an overhang you can also find one of the 4 turtles who live around this reef. Moray eels, scorpion fish, lionfish and all their other reef friends make this reef very spectacular.

One of the prettiest Reefs around this area. You will feel like you’re swimming in a big aquarium. Very nice coral formations, Sea fan, Gorgonians, Soft coral trees, Table corals and big black coral bushes are all along the Reef. Long, big overhangs give good shelter if we have current. On this dive spot you have everything. Lots of small inhabitants, schools of snappers, fusiliers, groups of sweet lips, yellow trumpet fish and of course you can also find some white tip reef sharks.

Manta, manta, manta! Guess what we come to this dive site to see?
Mantas are of course the main attraction to Manta Garden dive site. They can be found at any depth, cruising up and down the reef or getting cleaned at one of the blocks near the edge of the plateau. Other pelagic sightings that are possible include white tip sharks, tuna or jackfish, especially if there is some current present. During the shallow part of the dive, towards the end, look around for turtles. They are quite often feeding or resting on the reef top.

The wreck itself is covered with a variety of different corals, sponges and shells making it the perfect artificial reef to reef-dwellers and colorful aquatic life. Plenty of friendly batfish are typically found inside the wreck and swimming around it. The niches and cracks around the wreck are sometimes found to provide dark shelters for stingrays and nurse sharks. Shallower on deck you can find lion fish and beautiful macro life such as nudibranchs.

Kuda Rah Thila

The famous Kuda Rah Thila is split into a big main reef and two separate smaller blocks at the north side. On the west side of the main reef is an amazing arch-way that invites you to dive through! To the East, there is a large picturesque overhang at 24m.
The entire reef is covered with stunning soft corals with imposing gorgonians in sections.
Here, you can watch jack fish and tunas hunting the smaller reef fish such as fusiliers and snappers. Keeping an eye in the blue is worth it for the chance to see napoleons, barracudas, eagle rays and sharks. Honeycomb morays have been found here with cleaner wrasse giving them a tickle. This is also one of the few dive sites in Maldives where the yellow trumpet fish is sighted.

Whale sharks are often sighted at depth levels of 10-15m, and also on the top of the reef so this does not have to be a deep dive. Whale sharks cannot be guaranteed - this is the ocean after all! These dive sites have other big fish as well and make for very nice relaxing dives. You may see reef sharks, mantas, eagle rays or napoleon wrasse. Small reef-dwellers and more common reef fish are of course on the dive sites in this area too!

Eagle ray, napoleon, tunas and jackfish swim by frequently. As it's a channel dive at the outer reef anything can be seen from Whale shark to nudibranchs’! In season (typically November to April), mantas visit the cleaning station regularly and hang out on the top of the reef at around 10m. There are always many kinds of fish to be seen and in the cracks along the reef you will find many small inhabitants, such as lobsters and shrimps.

Huge variety of fish. The cracks and overhangs of the reef are the perfect hideaway for stingrays, morays and lobsters. If you don't find leopard shark then you have a good chance of white tip reef sharks sleeping on the sandy bottom of the bay. Being close to Rangali Outer reef it is always a good idea to keep one eye in the blue. Encounters with big jackfish, tuna and eagle rays are not uncommon.

This dive site is popular for schools of curious bat fish and surgeon fish which approach divers to take a closer look! Frequently white tip reef sharks circle around and nurse sharks like to hide in the overhangs or high in the darkness under the shelter of coral blocks. Octopus, scorpion fish, cowries, cleaner and mantis shrimps are very common on Mirihi Thila.

Due to the currents at Broken Rock, this dive site cannot be dived regularly but you can expect to see plenty of life if we are able to schedule a dive here. Hunting tunas, white tip reef sharks and napoleon wrasse are common sightings. Groupers and oriental sweetlips like to shelter in the darkness of the overhangs. Smaller reef dwellers can also be found including scorpion fish, moray eels and the more typical colorful reef fish of Maldives.

At around 18m depth, just south of the sandy bay, divers usually encounter a big school of blue-lined snappers. Whitetip sharks often rest on the sandy bottom in and around the bay too. On the side where there is current, big schools of fusiliers make a colorful display against the back-drop of blue water, and if you are lucky, eagle rays and big tunas do pass by here at times. Shallower towards the end of your dive, nurse sharks and lobsters can be hiding under the blocks on the reef top.

It is quite common to find whole poison fish family, stone fish and scorpion fish on the top of this reef.

Schools of blue lined snappers tend to gather on the reef top of Vaki thin Thila, while fusiliers and jackfish swim in a colorful formation close to the reef itself. For those liking critters and small marine life, explore the reef for tiny squat and cleaner shrimps that live in the feather stars, anemones and among the corals on the reef.
